BUT IT WAS AMAZING!
ASB IS IN 2 DAYS! HOLY MOLY! Everything’s all set and we are ready to roll. We are so excited!!!!@!@!! Just checked the site stats, and we’re really happy you guys have still been visiting this blog like almost everyday :]
We will be meeting on Saturday at the Fuller Lot, 808 Comm Ave at 11.30am. We will be leaving BU at noon, so please be on time. We have also just sent out an email with a couple of last reminders, so don’t forget to read that carefully.
Also, thanks for filling out the little snack survey! Jack’s parents are gonna go grocery shopping either today or tomorrow for us so we will have lots of goodies on the way down.
Think that’s it for now. If you have any last minute/lingering questions, don’t hesitate to email/text us!
See you Saturday! Whooooooo!
It was so nice meeting everyone last night! We also have an amazing chaperone, Sharrod, who is an Atlanta guru. Jack and I can’t wait (omggalksjfoawifja!) for spring break in Atlanta!
Just a couple of updates. We just talked to our site contact at POH and we just confirmed that we have THURSDAY AFTERNOON OFF. Yay! So definitely think of ideas on what you’d like to do to kill time before dinner with Sarah and Mary Beth (BU Alumni). Also, I’m not sure if it’s the trip packet, but even though POH only allows closed toed shoes, don’t forget to bring SHOWER SHOES.
Finally, don’t forget to tell Jack what kind of food you’d like on the van ride down.
See you guys sooon!!!@@!@!!
P.S. SOMEONE MAKE ME THESE FOR THE VAN RIDE DOWN, PRETTY PLEASE?
PRE BREAK IS TONIGHT AT 7PM AT METCALF BALLROOM, GSU!
We hope you ASB-ers are super duper excited to go to HOTLANTA IN 16 DAYS! IT’S GOING TO BE AMAAZINNNGGGG!
Just a couple of updates. Looking at the poll (I can’t believe you guys actually voted lololol), it looks like we might be going to the Georgia Aquarium. We’ll have to coordinate with the other Atlanta coordinators to see if we can even go and get a group discount. Tickets actually pretty expensive without the discount, so we’ll keep you guys posted.
Pre-Break/Ed Evening is Thursday 1st March at Metcalf Ballroom, GSU at 7pm. It’s going to be a fun night of meeting the other volunteers and getting to know the issue area you will be working with during the week of Spring Break. You will also be getting your TRIP PACKETSS! WHOOO! Yup, so looking forward to meeting you guys there!
Exciting News: BU/CSC Alumni have emailed us and said they would like to have us over at their places for dinner! Paul Brown & Stephen McMahon (Founder of the CSC) have invited us over for dinner on Friday, and Sarah and Mary Beth have invited us over for dinner on Thursday! YAY CSC FAMILY! We are so thankful and excited that they have offered to have us over for a meal.
And sooo yeah. IT’S THURSDAY! I can already smell the weekend. Yum.
P.S. We have our volunteer list! Excitinggggggg.
Jack and I have been snooping around the interwebs for touristy things we could do when we’re not busy doing awesome community service. We’ve come up with a list of several options, all of which we really really really want to go to. We’re going to let you guys decide what you want to do. Here’s a description of the sites, and take a vote below!
World of Coca Cola/Coke Museum
The World of Coca-Cola is a permanent exhibition featuring the history of The Coca-Cola Company and its well-known advertising as well as a host of entertainment areas and attractions. You’ll be able to try tons and tons of coke flavors and learn about one of the beset sodas on earth. (Karina really wants to go here).
Georgia Aquarium is the world s largest with over 8 million gallons of water the top Atlanta attraction, right in the heart of downtown. It’s a little on the pricey side, but it sounds sooooo cool. If we were to go to the Aquarium, we’d team up with ASB Atlanta IRC, Stone Mountain or/and Atlanta Macon Atlanta ASB Trips so we’ll qualify for GROUP DISCOUNTS!
INSIDE CNN STUDIO TOURS offers a once-in-a-lifetime view of the global headquarters of CNN. Kind of cool, right? Jack would really like to go here. If any of you are COM majors, hopefully you’d find this pretty sick.
THIS IS FREE. Underground Atlanta gives a historical tour of Atlanta, and it’d be really cool to find out more about the place we’re going to. Also, located in the Heart of Downtown, Underground Atlanta is bustling with activity, day or night. Enjoy daily entertainment, fortune telling, homemade candy, delicious dining and souvenir shopping. I’m picturing something like Faneuil Hall?
St Patrick’s Day Parade
As all of you might know, St Patty’s Day falls right in the middle of ASB! Atlanta usually has a really cool and elaborate St Patrick’s Day Parade that would be really interesting to check out.
Of course, there are plenty of other things to do in Atlanta. There’s also the zoo in Grant Park, which is basically right across the street from the church we’ll be staying at. Not to mention, Atlanta once hosted the Olympics, so they have the Olympic park we could also possibly check. If you guys want to do/have any suggestions, feel free to reach out to us!
VOTE FOR AN ACTIVITY! YAY!
